Welcome to my Internet Marketing Consulting website. My name is Dean Chu and I am a freelance internet marketing consultant and website designer base out of Burlington, Ontario, Canada. I designed this website to promote my services as a freelance internet marketing consultant, freelance website designer, as well as building my web traffic and PageRank by sharing some useful information on various aspects of website design process that I've picked up over the years. Also, as you may have notice I place Google Adsense and HostGator advertisements on this site to provide my visitors with access to competing and relating services to the services I provide. Why? Because anyone can easily use search engines to find the services that are being advertised on this website and competition is good for business. The following is an account of how I became interested in website designing: Back in 2004 I was presented with an opportunity to learn a new skill in website design and I quickly took advantage of the opportunity. At that time, I had just started my employment with Shawpak Systems, a Canadian manufacturing company, as their Marketing Director. When I joined Shawpak, we did not have a website and so first mission was to get Shawpak onto the internet. An online presence was necessary before I would begin other marketing initiatives such as print ads and direct mailers. This was important because print ads and direct mailers are very expensive and should the recipients of those advertisement decide to look up Shawpak on the internet I felt it would be counterproductive if Shawpak did not have a website.

Thus, I was put in charge of interviewing and hiring a website designer. I interviewed a handful of professional website design firms and freelance website designers and found that the prices were quite expensive and I was not budget for the asking price. As a result, my boss decided to put the project on hold. This was a step back for Shawpak and my marketing plan because a website was one the key tools for Shawpak to increase their product awareness and increase market shares. However, instead of waiting until we can afford a website, I offered to design it myself.

Never before had I designed a commercial website, all I had was the internet as my tutor and the belief that if I set my mind to it I can achieve it. The resources I found on the internet to assist me with designing a website turned out to be extremely valuable to my web design education. Shawpak Systems, a Canadian conveyor manufacturer was the result of my first website design effort. It turned out that I loved every minute of web designing and the rest as they say it is history.
